Scraped Face

scraped faceScanned through your past photos.
You were rounder than the now angular you.
What have you done?
You lost your innocence.

You dropped warmth.
You now lack sincerity
Looking a little bitchy.
I’m sorry; this is the truth.

So adamant at changing.
Too eager to bury the real you
I like the former
Way better than the latter you.

Don’t tell me about your intent.
You’re going to scrape that face more.
Have it sculpted like marble.
Have a care, you might get in trouble.

You used to be beautiful.
Now you’re like a ghoul.
So artificial!
Take heed, you might fall.

Stop saying it’s a natural face.
You had everything erased.
Lucky you, there’s grace.
Lest your existence effaced.

It’s obvious you’ve been touched.
By skilled hands that get paid much.
I don’t know you anymore.
You’ve become an eye sore.

  1. There is a lot to be said for natural beauty. In the name of vanity, people fix what isn’t broken and the end result is often disconcerting. (Disclaimer, plastic surgeons are miracle workers in cases where people have suffered some accident, etc).
